Monitoring WS-Agreement s: An Event Calculus-Based Approach
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we present a framework that we have developed to support the monitoring of service level agreements. The agreements that can be monitored by this framework are expressed in an extension of WS-Agreement that we propose. The main characteristic of the proposed extension is that it uses an event calculus based language, called EC-Assertion, for the specification of the service guarantee terms in a service level agreement that need to be monitored at runtime. The use of EC-Assertion for specifying service guarantee terms provides a well-defined semantics to the specification of such terms and a formal reasoning framework for assessing their satisfiability. The paper describes also an implementation of the framework and the results of a set of experiments that we have conducted to evaluate it.

Verifying Composite Service Transactional Behavior Using Event Calculus
A key challenge of Web service (WS) composition is how to ensure reliable execution. The lack of techniques that support non-functional features such as execution reliability is widely recognized as a barrier preventing widespread adoption. Therefore, there is a growing interest for verification techniques which help to prevent WS composition execution failures. In this paper, we propose an eve...
متن کاملEvent Driven Monitoring for Service Composition Infrastructures
We present an event-based monitoring approach for service composition infrastructures. While existing approaches mostly monitor these infrastructures in isolation, we provide a holistic monitoring approach by leveraging Complex Event Processing (CEP) techniques. The goal is to avoid fragmentation of monitoring data across different subsystems in large enterprise environments by connecting vario...
متن کاملThe Effects of Different SDE Calculus on Dynamics of Nano-Aerosols Motion in Two Phase Flow Systems
Langevin equation for a nano-particle suspended in a laminar fluid flow was analytically studied. The Brownian motion generated from molecular bombardment was taken as a Wiener stochastic process and approximated by a Gaussian white noise. Euler-Maruyama method was used to solve the Langevin equation numerically. The accuracy of Brownian simulation was checked by performing a series of simulati...
متن کاملWS-CDL and Pi-Calculus
With the publishing and creation of the Web Services Description Language (WS-CDL) and the success of the Pi Calculus it has been stated that the former is based on the latter. A well reasoned answer for or against this claim is not to be found. Here an approach to a well reasoned answer is portrayed and criteria on how to evaluate this statement are presented. An investigation of the relations...
متن کاملEfficient Web Services Event Reporting and Notifications by Task Delegation
Web Services are an XML technology recently viewed as capable of being used for network management. A key aspect of WS in this domain is event reporting. WS-based research in this area has produced a collection of notification specifications, which consider even aspects such as filtering to reduce machine and network resource consumption. Still though, additional aspects need to be addressed if...
